ARDECORE
Just a stone’s throw from Piazza Vittorio, Ardecore, the new pop-contemporary pizzeria, opens a missing piece in the gastronomic offer of Esquilino, a lively multi-ethnic neighborhood of the capital. The interiors spread over an area of over 320 square meters, where in the middle you encounter the “burning core,” that is the operational area of the oven, built on-site with refractory materials. Covered in matte black tiles and surrounded by shiny dark walls, it evokes magma, burnt matter, ash. The vaulted ceilings and the main masonry arches had already been restored by the previous ownership, the focus is on the reinterpretation of the spaces thanks to the plastic force of color. The skillful use of color defines and separates the environments, from the kitchen, the workshop and the services, to the more convivial areas, where the discreet beauty of indigo and moss green intertwine, balancing the bright red of the iron structures and chandeliers.
