The property is in the San Giovanni district on the ground floor of a 1930s building. The client decided to buy the property for the charm of the many distinctive features, such as the private garden of about 90 square meters with a scenic tuff wall and the ceilings’ wide height that characterize and make the apartment unique. The apartment is very light thanks to the double exposure, one to the private garden and the other one on the vast inner courtyard full of trees and vegetation. This allows to completely escape from the city’s hustle, always remaining in physical and visual contact with nature. The kitchen dining room has been placed overlooking the garden, which can be accessed by two large patio doors that rise upwards, accentuating the ceiling’s verticality and height. The sleeping area, more reserved, even if placed to the end of the apartment, keeps the same brightness and direct contact with nature. The height of the ceilings was mainly emphasized using colors, shafts of light, and wallpapers, but also by playing with plants, this is the case of the walk-in shower with hand-made bottle green tiles. The other focal point of the project is the garden. Starting from its simple conformation, it was deci ded to enhance it by playing with different heights giving the central role to a wooden platform with the dining table and the built-in kitchen. Last but certainly not least, the concrete tanks encased in the platform and next to the black metal walkway, apparently distributed in an unregulated way, but which allow the creation of backdrops framing the different areas, making everything more welcoming, dynamic, and always in contact with nature.
